Abstract

Several bone dimensional changes occur after tooth extraction, so ridge preservation technique is recommended for maintaining the existing hard tissues. The use of various techniques and biomaterials has been proposed over the years and many results show the efficacy of the ridge preservation technique for preventing excessive bone resorption. Sometimes it can be done with sinus lift simultaneously if residual bone height is insufficient in the maxillary area. However it isn¡¯t well known whether implant can function in the site that ridge preservation technique was done because of its bone quality. In this report, ridge preservation with sinus lift was conducted in the posterior maxilla. After four months later, the implant was placed in this area and it has presented successful outcome during two years.
